I miss music collaborations like this one.
Tune of the Tuesday: “New Light” – John Mayer
His music video makes the song even better!

Throwback Track Thursday: “Virtual Insanity” – Jamiroquai
Why do short work weeks still feel so long?!
Tune of the Tuesday: “Just For Tonight” – James Bay
Reminds me of the rhythms in John Cougar Mellencamp’s “Jack and Diane” but with a more modern rock beat.
Throwback Track Thursday: “Back For Good” – Take That
Rainy days are good for reminiscing.
Tune of the Tuesday: “Pink Lemonade” – James Bay
The first few bars of guitar… and then the drums kick in. Such a catchy tune!
Throwback Track Thursday: “Ease Your Mind” – Wide Mouth Mason
Much as I love the bluesy rock vibes of Wide Mouth Mason, one of my favourites of my favourite band is this slow, emotive, melancholic ballad that makes me want to have a warm drink and a satisfying book to read and relax on rainy days like today. The last few bars of vocals always gets to me.
Tune of the Tuesday: “Knocking At The Door” – Arkells
Because when it’s already May and you still feel like you have a lot of week left, you need an anthemic rock song to power you through.
Throwback Track Thursday: “No Such Thing” – John Mayer
The rhythm of the riffs takes me back to the days of music communities and discussion boards, using videocassettes to tape live performance footage to rewatch later. The first few bars of this song are memories and are especially memorable to me. I remember first seeing John Mayer perform in a small club where it was easy to get to the front and use the small raised stage as a makeshift table for drinks while one marvelled at his mastery of his acoustic guitar up close.
