Amongst all the songs I used to have on cassette and have ended up buying in a digital format, this song has been randomly played the most by my smartphone’s music app in the past months.
Tune of the Tuesday: “American Screams” – Arkells
Because it seems like people in the States are finally realizing it’s time to get really loud to get democracy for all.
(Belated) Throwback Track Thursday: “Modern Love” – Matt Nathanson
Because today is the day he officially releases his new album!
Tune of the Tuesday: “Good Kisser” – Lake Street Drive
Ever since I heard this song play in the lead up to a gig by Anderson East, I needed to find out who was behind the song. Thank goodness for Shazam! This song is definitely ear candy!
Throwback Track Thursday: “If You Could Only See” – Tonic
Throwback to pop rock that still makes you all mellow.
Tune of the Tuesday: “Lula” – Bocephus King & Flophouse Jr.
The title track of Bocephus King’s latest album has a guitar intro that takes me back to auditory memories of Roxette’s “Joyride”, adding a modern, worldly beat to create a track that gets played often.
Throwback Track Thursday: “Too Close” – Alex Clare
Because sometimes the memories of others hit too closely to one’s own memories. Being witness to someone reminiscing about loss is one such situation.
(Belated) Tune of the Tuesday: “Relentless” – The Arkells
Because it’s so darn catchy.
Throwback Track Thursday: “Stay With Me” – Sam Smith
Because tonight was the first time I was fortunate to hear Sam Smith sing live. His voice is incandescent!
Tune of the Tuesday: “Vote” – Miguel
Updated my electoral information today to ensure my voter registration is up to date!
